About

In late June of 2021, Sydney Australia went into lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 Delta Strain outbreak.

To keep myself sane, I turned towards experimenting with creative writing. As a long time fan of role playing games (in either video or table top format) I was inspired to do a series of short stories--across the spectrum of fantastic literary genres--drawing on the universal theme of "the dungeon." That is, an enclosed place of danger and darkness, risk and reward. Similar to the mythic archetype of the 'dark forest' a 'dungeon' represents a transformative space, a conflict of identities or preconceived notions of the self and others.

Each story takes place in its own world but follows three self-imposed rules:

  • Keep it to no more than 20 pages (Probably fail to do so)
  • There must always been a dungeon 'master'
  • There must always be a treasure or object of desire
Enter, adventurer, if you dare.
